Ziauddin University to Host PPIE Summit, Focusing on Patient and Public Involvement in Research

Karachi: Ziauddin University announced it will host the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Summit at its Clifton Campus on August 17, 2024. The summit aims to deepen the integration of patient and public perspectives in research processes.

According to Ziauddin University, the event will feature sessions that highlight the importance of patient voices in research, address ethical considerations in public engagement, and share experiences from similar initiatives in Pakistan and the UK. Notable speakers including Adnan Masood, Dr. Rakhshi Memon, Qudsia Hassan, and Dr. Ashleigh Cheyne will contribute their insights on these topics.

The summit will also include a panel discussion focused on the ethical challenges associated with public engagement in research, underscoring the university’s commitment to advancing meaningful and ethical involvement of the public and patients in the academic and clinical research sectors.
