UVAS Hosts Seminar and Floral Art Competition at Ravi Campus

Lahore, The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore organized a daylong seminar titled “Future Potential of Floriculture” alongside a “Floral Art Competition” at its Ravi Campus in Pattoki. The events were designed to engage students from various departments in understanding the floriculture industry and to showcase their creative skills in floral design.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the floral art competition featured three categories: fresh floral arrangements, dry floral arrangements, and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students participated actively in these contests. Mr. Mudassar Naseer, Principal Scientific Officer at the Horticultural Research Station in Sahiwal, served as the guest speaker, providing a lecture on the floriculture business’s startup opportunities and future prospects.

The concluding session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Arshad Javid, Principal Officer of the Ravi Campus. Awards, including certificates, cash prizes, and shields, were distributed to the competition winners. The event also saw the participation of Dr. Mubashrah Munir, Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences; Prof. Dr. Hamda Azmat; Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Anjum, Chief Organizer; Dr. Aamna Ishaq, President of the event; and Dr. Beenish Aftab, the event secretary, along with numerous students and faculty members.
