Rawalkot, A delegation of 25 officers from Balochistan, currently enrolled in the “Third Mid-Career Management Course” at the Balochistan Services Academy, visited Jamia Poonch Rawalkot as part of a tour of Azad Kashmir, focusing on enhancing educational collaboration and opportunities for students from Balochistan.
According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the visit featured detailed briefings on the university’s educational and administrative infrastructure, research activities, ongoing mega projects, and student diversity. Registrar Professor Dr. Abdul Rauf Khan and Dr. Majid Mahmood Taher, Chairman of the Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences, provided insights into the university’s offerings, including scholarships and funding sources. They emphasized the institution’s commitment to supporting students from all over the country, with particular attention to those from Balochistan.
The visiting officers, representing various sectors such as social welfare, labor, agriculture, and minerals, expressed appreciation for the university’s infrastructure and the diverse representation of its student body. They proposed increasing the admission quota for Balochistan to facilitate greater access for students from the region’s predominantly rural areas. In response, Dr. Abdul Rauf assured special support for Balochistan students, noting the successful careers of Jamia Poonch alumni in various fields.
