Abu Dhabi Sets Stage for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024

Abu Dhabi, The city is gearing up to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024 next month, with the tournament’s groups and fixtures now finalized. Ten international teams will compete at two distinguished venues, Tolerance Oval and Zayed Cricket Stadium, aiming to secure their places in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year in Bangladesh.

According to International Cricket Council, the tournament will span from April 25 to May 7, featuring 10 teams allocated into two groups. These teams are set to embark on a competitive journey for two available spots in the T20 World Cup, following the automatic qualifications of the top six teams from the 2023 World Cup and Bangladesh as the host nation, alongside Pakistan qualifying through rankings.

Group A comprises Sri Lanka, Thailand, Scotland, Uganda, and the USA, while Group B includes Ireland, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, UAE, and Vanuatu. The tournament structure involves a series of 20 matches across the group stage, culminating in semi-finals where the top two teams from each group will face off. The finalists from these matches will then advance to the T20 World Cup, underlining the critical importance of every game played.

The Zayed Cricket Stadium is set to host the final on May 7, marking the culmination of a series of intense and strategic matches played over two weeks. With day and night matches planned, the tournament promises to offer a showcase of emerging talents and team strategies, all within the vibrant cricketing environment of Abu Dhabi.
