Turbat, The University of Turbat (UoT) marked a significant milestone in fostering innovation and collaboration across academic disciplines with its Science-Tech Exhibition held on February 1, 2024. This event, organized by the Science and Innovation Club in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and IT, provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase 20 groundbreaking projects and ideas.
According to University of Turbat, the exhibition drew attention from various sectors, including faculty members, administrative staff, students from UoT, as well as teachers and students from different colleges and schools. It also attracted individuals from the business community and civil society, all of whom praised the students’ innovative contributions. The event was highlighted as a transformative learning experience, enabling participants to gain skills and explore market and startup opportunities for their projects.
“P-Biotech,” a team from the Natural and Basic Science Department, clinched the first position with their exceptional project. “Rangzaar” from the Computer Science Department and “Connect Turbat” from the Management Science Department were awarded the second and third positions, respectively. The awards ceremony saw Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, UoT’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, along with other university officials, distributing prizes and certificates to the winners, volunteers, and organizers of the exhibition.
The projects were judged by a distinguished panel including Dr. Naeemullah, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and IT, Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar UoT, Dr. Rashid Ali, Chairperson of the Computer Science Department, and Meer Bahad, Protocol Officer. Their evaluation was based on the innovation and potential impact of the projects presented.
Abdul Basit, President of the Science and Innovation Club, extended his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Dr. Haneef ur Rehman, and Engineer Bilal Ur Rehman, the focal persons for their instrumental role in the event’s success. He also thanked the faculty members, students, and visitors for their enthusiastic participation, underscoring the exhibition’s role in enhancing the academic and practical understanding of science and technology among students.
