Bahria University Seeks Consultancy Services for Campus Solarization

Islamabad, Bahria University’s Head Office in Islamabad has announced an open call for proposals and expressions of interest for consultancy services to facilitate the solarization of its campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. This initiative is part of the university’s shift towards sustainable energy solutions, aiming to implement solar systems under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) basis.

According to Bahria University, interested consultancy firms must be registered with both the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP). The university emphasizes the need for companies with a proven track record of collaborating with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), and K-Electric in the design and supervision of solar systems on a PPA basis.

The proposal submission process requires consultancy firms to send their detailed and updated profiles to the Planning and Development Directorate at Bahria University’s Head Office in Islamabad. Firms have the option to apply for consultancy in a single location or multiple campuses. The deadline for the submission of proposals and company profiles is set for February 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with the opening of bids scheduled on the same day at 11:30 AM.

Selection of the consultancy firm(s) will be conducted by a Technical Committee in accordance with the 2010 regulations on Procurement of Consultancy Services and the Evaluation Criteria outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Furthermore, Bahria University has made tender documents available for interested parties upon the payment of Rs. 3,000, which is non-refundable. This payment should be made in the form of a Pay Order in favor of “Bahria University Islamabad” during office hours.

The university also reserves the right to reject any proposals at any stage before acceptance, as per Rule 33 of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules 2004. Financial bids will be requested only from shortlisted firms.

For additional information or clarifications, interested parties are directed to contact the Planning and Development Department of Bahria University during working hours.
