Haripur, The University of Haripur celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of the Al-Ghazali Central Library and the Science and Technology Park (STP), marked by a grand ceremony attended by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

According to The University of Haripur, the event saw the presence of esteemed guests, including Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Registrar Mr. Riaz Muhammad, and various sectional heads, chairpersons, deans, faculty, and staff. The attendees extended a warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, who was the chief guest at the ceremony.

During the event, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed participated in various activities, including a visit to the newly established Islamic Garden where he planted a tree to commemorate the occasion. He also toured a horticulture exhibition showcasing students’ creativity in Bonsai, Cacti, Rangoli designs, citrus and food exhibits, vegetable shows, and food stalls. The HEC Chairman expressed admiration for the students’ efforts and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a holistic educational experience.

The event also featured a toolkit distribution ceremony funded by HEC Pakistan under grant LCF-55. This ceremony highlighted the university’s commitment to social responsibility, where sewing machines and toolkits were distributed to transgender individuals and the needy, reflecting an inclusive approach to empowerment.

Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, commended the collaborative efforts with HEC, expressing gratitude for their support in establishing the Al-Ghazali Central Library and the STP. He emphasized the significant role these facilities play in academic advancement and technological innovation.
