Pakistan Cricket Team Sets Stage for T20I Series Against New Zealand with Lahore Training Camp

Karachi, The Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand with a specialized training camp starting tomorrow at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The camp, spanning from December 29 to January 3, is a crucial preparatory step before the team’s departure for Auckland via Dubai on the evening of January 3.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the camp will include key players such as Abbas Afridi, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haseebullah Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Sahibzada Farhan. The PCB has also extended invitations to nine additional players to participate in the camp. These players are Ahmed Shehzad, Arif Yaqoob, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Amir Khan, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Imran, Omair Bin Yousaf, Sajjad Ali Jnr, and Shahab Khan. These additional players will join the camp for four days and will then return to participate in the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade – I.

The camp schedule at the Gaddafi Stadium includes training sessions from 12 pm to 2:30 pm each day. The PCB has arranged for media interactions with players following the training sessions, offering opportunities for coverage and insights into the team’s preparation. On January 3, camp commandant Yasir Arafat will be available for media interaction after the training session.

The squad selected for the New Zealand series showcases Pakistan’s cricketing talent. It includes Shaheen Shah Afridi as the captain, and other notable players like Aamir Jamal, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Saim Ayub, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan, along with the wicket-keepers Azam Khan, Haseebullah, and Mohammad Rizwan.

This camp is a significant step in the Pakistan cricket team’s preparation for the highly anticipated T20I series against New Zealand. It demonstrates PCB’s commitment to ensuring the team is well-prepared and equipped to perform at its best in the international arena.
