Punjab Arts Council Commemorates Quaid-e-Azam Day with Grand Musical Show in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, The Punjab Arts Council organized a grand musical event to celebrate the 147th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, drawing a large audience and featuring performances by renowned artists. The event highlighted the cultural richness of Punjab and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity.

According to Punjab Arts Council, the musical program was graced by Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed as the Chief Guest, with Assistant Director Muhammad Sulaiman also in attendance. The event saw performances by artists including Tahir Nayar, Asma Lata, Ashraf Mirza, and Hameed Babar, who received considerable applause from the audience. The program served as a platform to remember and honor the historical efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in establishing a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent.

Chief Guest Waqar Ahmed spoke about the significance of Quaid-e-Azam’s struggle and leadership, which notably reshaped the map of the world. He emphasized the need for the new generation to look up to Quaid-i-Azam as a role model and to be enlightened about his principles and vision. This approach, he noted, is vital for understanding the country’s history and values.

Assistant Director Muhammad Sulaiman highlighted Punjab’s cultural diversity, noting the prominence of Punjabi, Saraiki, and Pothohari cultures in the province. He stressed the importance of culture as a region’s identity, warning that nations neglecting their cultural heritage risk losing their distinctiveness globally. He acknowledged the efforts of the Punjab Arts Council and the Department of Information and Culture in preserving and promoting the region’s cultural heritage.

The musical event was well-attended by people from various cities, reflecting the wide appeal and significance of the celebration.
