Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Outlines Vision for Overcoming National Challenges at Bakhtawar Cadet College Event

Karachi, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressed the annual function of Bakhtawar Cadet College in Nawabshah, where he presented a vision to transform national difficulties into opportunities. Amidst the backdrop of economic, environmental, and demographic challenges, Zardari emphasized collaborative efforts and resource utilization to navigate these complexities.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, during his speech as Chief Guest at the college event, Zardari underscored the pivotal role of the youth in Pakistan’s future. He advocated for an end to divisive politics and recognized the simultaneous pressures of economic crises, climate change, and a growing population. Zardari referred to the ideology of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, emphasizing the importance of ‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makan’ (Food, Clothing, and Shelter) in today’s context, particularly considering the threats posed by climate change and the melting Himalayan snow.

Highlighting his plans, Zardari spoke about doubling salaries to combat inflation, introducing Kisan Card for farmers, Mazdoor Card for laborers, and Youth Card for the youth. These initiatives aim to ensure direct financial assistance to the working class, bypassing subsidies to mill owners. He recalled the first rights given to workers in Pakistan by Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqkar Ali Bhutto.

Furthermore, Zardari detailed his commitment to providing education and employment opportunities for youth, including vocational training and support through Youth Cards and Youth Centers. He discussed his efforts to facilitate the employment of Pakistani youth abroad, including engagements with Japan and Europe. In terms of healthcare, Zardari plans to extend the progress made in Sindh’s health sector nationwide.

Regarding climate change, Zardari stressed Pakistan’s proactive role in global efforts, despite its minimal contribution to the cause of climate change. He also emphasized the need to shift towards green and solar energy, proposing the establishment of energy parks and free electricity for low-income families.

Zardari criticized the bureaucracy for its pessimistic outlook on national funds and proposed the abolition of 17 non-essential ministries to redirect funds towards public welfare. He concluded by stressing the importance of abandoning traditional divisive politics for collective national progress.

During the event, Zardari was received by Vice Air Chief Khalid Mehmood and Principal Dr. Farida Sheikh, and was presented a Guard of Honour. The ceremony was also attended by former Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and former Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho.
