Islamabad, On the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, former President Asif Ali Zardari and President of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to realizing Jinnah’s vision of a democratic and welfare state. In his message, Zardari drew attention to the national anthem of Pakistan, highlighting it as a reflection of Quaid-e-Azam’s philosophy, emphasizing the people as the source of power.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, President Zardari elaborated on Quaid-e-Azam’s characteristics as a democrat and an enlightened leader, noting his dual roles as a lawyer and an advocate for human and religious freedom. He pointed out that the 1973 Constitution, created by Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, serves as a practical manifestation of Quaid-e-Azam’s vision, ensuring the country’s survival and security.
President Zardari underscored the PPP’s ongoing efforts to defend freedom of expression, political and religious freedom in Pakistan, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam. He expressed concern over certain ideologies attempting to impose their ideals on the country and society under the pretext of religion, stating that such actions are contrary to Quaid-e-Azam’s philosophy and cannot be tolerated.
