Karachi, On the 147th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has paid homage to his legacy. In a statement issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman Zardari called for a renewed commitment to the principles of justice, equality, and the foundational ideals of Pakistan.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Zardari reflected on Quaid-e-Azam’s role as a democrat-minded leader whose unwavering dedication was instrumental in the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized that Jinnah’s determination and leadership continue to inspire future generations and remind Pakistanis of the nation’s founding principles. Chairman Zardari highlighted the PPP’s ongoing efforts to realize a democratic and progressive Pakistan in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision. He noted that Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s historic consensus on the 1973 Constitution and Martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto’s dedication to democracy and the welfare of the underprivileged were in alignment with Jinnah’s ideals.
Under President Asif Ali Zardari’s tenure, the 18th Constitutional Amendment was a significant step towards restoring the 1973 Constitution, reinforcing the principles espoused by Quaid-e-Azam. Chairman Zardari reiterated the importance of adhering to Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of Pakistan as a beacon of democracy, unity, and development, where every citizen has equal opportunities regardless of race, color, creed, or religion. Emphasizing the critical need to stay true to democratic principles, he concluded with a message of unity against forces that prioritize coercion over the democratic process.
