Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore, inaugurated its sixth Clinicopathological Conference (CPC) session for the academic year 2023-24, focusing on enhancing the clinical proficiency of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The session was meticulously organized by Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson of the Department of Medicine, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell, and Dean Faculty of Nursing at FJMU, under the guidance of the esteemed Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal.
According to Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore, the conference featured insightful presentations from the Department of Nephrology, headed by Dr. Shahid Anwar, and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Unit IV, led by Prof. Dr. Amna Zia Eusaph. The event covered two key cases, providing comprehensive insights into clinical management, diagnosis, treatment, and complications.
The first case, “HYPOGLYCAEMIA AMONG HAEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS,” was presented by Dr. Nabiha (House Officer) and Dr. Seemab (PGR Nephrology). The session concluded with valuable comments and expert opinions from Dr. Shahid Anwar, Head of Nephrology.
The second case, “OUTCOMES OF LOSS OF FOLLOW-UP IN 29 YEARS OLD PRIMIGRAVIDA HAVING COMPLETE MOLAR PREGNANCY,” was presented by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Unit-IV. Presenters Dr. Mahnoor (House Officer) and Dr. Maryam Shahid (PGR Obst. & Gynae Unit-IV) explored various aspects of the case, with a closing summary from Prof. Dr. Amna Zia Eusaph, Head of the Department.
The Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, emphasized the importance of CPC in higher education and patient care, focusing on early diagnosis and treatment.
