Lahore, The HBL Pakistan Super League Player Draft 2024 has been scheduled to take place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Wednesday, 13 December 2023.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the event is part of the preparations for the league’s ninth edition, which is tentatively set from 8 February to 24 March 2024. Quetta Gladiators are slated to make the first pick of the draft, with the selection order for the first round of the Platinum category being determined by the inverse order of the previous season’s standings.
The local player category renewals were completed on 10 November, with upgrades in categories for nine players. The registration window for foreign players opened on 25 October, attracting interest from top international players. In recent player trades, Karachi Kings exchanged Imad Wasim for Islamabad United’s Hasan Ali, alongside a swap of their first and second round silver picks.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has noted that access to the event will be restricted due to limited space, with entry granted only to PCB-accredited reporters through an event accreditation device, upon presentation of their PCB accreditation pass. The event accreditation passes will be available for collection outside the venue on the day of the event. Further details regarding media accreditation can be sought from Mr. Shakeel Khan. The exact time of the HBL PSL Player Draft 2024 will be announced later.
