International Islamic University Islamabad Launches Seed Grant Program to Boost Research and Innovation

Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has announced the inception of the Research and Commercialization Seed Grant (RCSG) Program, an innovative initiative designed to enhance the university’s commitment to innovation, research, and development. This program, under the guidance of Vice President Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shuja Syed and approved by President IIUI, H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Al Otaibi, aims to promote commercialization, technology advancement, and business incubation across various disciplines.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the RCSG Program aligns with Target Priority Area No. 2 of the IIUI’s Strategic Plan (2022-26), focusing on Research and Collaborations. The program has already seen significant engagement within the IIUI community, with seventeen faculty members submitting their groundbreaking projects for consideration. These proposals underwent a rigorous evaluation process led by a distinguished Management Committee, ensuring a fair and transparent selection.

The selected proposals cover a wide range of fields including Biological Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Social Sciences and Humanities, reflecting the diverse research excellence at IIUI. The grants, totaling Rs. 840,000, have been awarded to Dr. Bushra Uzair Zafar (Biological Sciences), Dr. Tila Muhammad (Engineering and Technology), and Dr. Robina Naz & Dr. Robina Parveen (Arabic and Language & Literature). These projects exemplify the caliber of research and the innovative spirit at IIUI, underscoring the university’s commitment to advancing knowledge and making meaningful contributions to society through research and development.
