Lahore School of Economics Opens Mother and Child Health Care Centre at Burki Campus

Lahore, The Lahore School of Economics has inaugurated its new Mother and Child Health Care Centre, a significant addition to its Burki campus. Dr. Theresa Thompson Chaudhry, a Professor in the Department of Economics, led the opening ceremony of the center on November 22, 2023. This facility is part of the Lahore School’s continuing commitment to improving healthcare services for its community.

According to Lahore School of Economics, the newly inaugurated Mother and Child Health Care Centre is located within the Burki campus, which also houses the Agriculture Economics Research Center and the Health and Sports Complex. These facilities collectively span over an extensive area of 82 acres. The Health Care Centre is primarily focused on providing preventive care to the support staff of the Lahore School and their families. Additionally, the center will be responsible for maintaining health records of these individuals.

The inauguration event was a community affair, with the participation of the families of Lahore School Support Staff, as well as faculty and administrative staff members. The ceremony was marked by medical checkups and fresh farm fruit treats, emphasizing the importance of health and wellness in the Lahore School community. This new health care facility represents a vital step in enhancing the welfare and health services provided to the staff and their families, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to the well-being of its community.
