UVAS Holds Rally to Condemn Israeli Actions and Express Solidarity with Palestine

Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organized a rally to express support for the Palestinian people and condemn the actions taken by Israel, which they classify as terrorism and war crimes.

According to a news release by University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), The rally, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed, witnessed the participation of numerous UVAS stakeholders including Deans, Director Chairmen/Chairpersons, students from various departments, faculty members, and administrative staff. The protest commenced at the Vice-Chancellor’s office and wound its way through the City Campus, concluding in front of the Administration block lawn.

Throughout the procession, participants vocalized their distress over perceived war crimes and human rights infringements in Palestinian territories under Israeli occupation. Demonstrators brandished Palestinian flags, and banners and resoundingly chanted slogans decrying Israel’s actions.

In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed appealed to Israel to withdraw from territories they hold unlawfully and prompted Islamic nations to wield their clout to stem the harm to innocent Palestinians and advocate for a sustainable solution to the ongoing conflict. Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmed lauded the courage displayed by the Palestinian populace, particularly when confronting Israeli airstrikes that have struck civilian sites, such as hospitals, educational institutions, and homes. He expressed optimism that the Palestinians’ perseverance would eventually culminate in the retrieval of their land from Israeli control. Furthermore, he avowed UVAS’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinians in their quest for freedom. As the rally came to a close, Dr. Muhammad Asad Ali offered prayers in memory of the Palestinian victims.
