70% Pakistanis who were directly affected by the recent flooding reported facing an economic loss; 5% reported a loss of life: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, September 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 70% Pakistanis who were directly affected by the recent flooding reported facing an economic loss; 5% reported a loss of life.

A sample of adult men and women who were directly affected by the recent flooding, from across the country was asked the following question,” We are very sorry to hear that your house got flooded. Can you please tell me if there was any?” 70% reported that they had suffered economic losses, 58% said they had faced agricultural damages/losses, 51% responded damage/loss of livestock, 5% reported that they had faced loss of life while 15% said that they had faced other damages. 73% of the respondents who reported that they faced economic losses belonged to urban areas while 57% belonged to rural areas.
