Lahore, August 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):A matter of great pride for the Government College University Lahore as its 22 students have been selected as Lecturers in English at t the Higher Education Department through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). In his tweet, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi said that “what makes us really proud is the news that three of our brilliant young men from English Department, Mr. Muhammad Moazzam, Mr. Ibreez Shabkhez and Mr. Zain ul Abideen, have secured all the first three position in selection process at the Punjab level.”

He congratulated all 22 students of English Department and their teachers, saying that “GCU is proud of you! Another strong indication of how good our English Department is.” The Vice Chancellor said that students from other departments of GCU have also secured appointments as lectures in their respective disciplines. Prof. Zaidi said when they at GCU encourage young boys and girls to adopt teaching as profession, they are inviting them into a vibrant movement for social change.

He said there are three very basic principles on which human life flourishes i.e. diversity, curiosity and creativity, but very unfortunately they are contradicted by a culture of education that is currently prevalent in our country. He hoped the new generation would work hard in their capacity as teachers to introduce these three very basic principles.
