IoBM Students Hamna Mudassar and Haya Gul Selected to Represent Pakistan at The Asian Youth Netball Championship in South Korea

Karachi, June 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Netball Federation has announced the squad for the Pakistan Junior Girls Netball team participating in the Asian Youth Netball Championship 2023 in South Korea. IoBM students Hamna Mudassar and Haya Gul have been selected for the Team with Hamna named as the team Captain. The Championship will be played from June 10-17, 2023.

The team comprises Hamna Mudassar, Haya Gul, Zainab Shujaat, Areesha, Aimen Mehmood, Alveera Kashif, Zainab Raheel, Muqaddas Fatima, and Mahin Aleem. Anwar Ahmed Ansari will serve as the Coach, while Nisha Sultan is the Assistant Coach. 11 teams including Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Korea, Chinese Taipei, Brunei, and Singapore are participating in the Championship. Pakistan will play five matches in its group on June 10 (vs. Japan), June 11 (vs Thailand), June 12 (vs. Hong Kong), June 13 (vs Malaysia), and June 14 (vs India).

Two players from IUB have been selected for the national training camp of the baseball team for the 19th Asian Games

Bahawalpur, June 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Two players from Islamia University Bahawalpur, Atif Ahmed and Raees Bashir, have been selected for the national training camp of the baseball team for the 19th Asian Games in China. Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur congratulated the Director of Sports Amjad Farooq Waraich and the two players and called it a historic moment in the history of University Sports.

Teams from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia and Sri Lanka are participating in this event. In this regard, on behalf of Pakistan Federation Baseball, the national training camp of Pakistan Baseball Team is going on in Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. Both the sportsmen and students of Islamia University Bahawalpur will train in the camp of Pakistan Sports.

IUB student Muhammad Ahsan got 3rd position in All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Competition 2023

Bahawalpur, June 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):The All Pakistan Bilingual Announcement 2023 competitions started from May 23 and went through various stages and concluded at the provincial and national levels. In these competitions, students of Islamic Studies Department, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (Bahawalnagar Campus) and executive member Islamia University Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar Campus Debating Society Muhammad Ahsan bin Muhammad Aslam Shakir gave excellent performances.

He won his first match on May 24 in Sahiwal and qualified for South Punjab. After winning in Multan on May 26, he performed at the provincial level on June 02 at the Punjab level, as a result of which he won the second position and represented Punjab at the national level Urdu speech competitions in Islamabad on the intervening night of June 02 and 03. 2023 secured the third position.

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq ul Islam from IUB delivered a keynote address on the topic of the modern world of Islam in Turkey

Bahawalpur, June 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Bahawalpur (P) The modern Islamic world is facing many challenges including political instability, economic inequality, religious extremism and cultural degradation. These challenges can be attributed to factors such as colonialism, globalization and traditionalism, which have created a complex environment for the Muslim world. Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal has presented a unique perspective on these problems affecting the world of Islam and provided solutions to overcome them through his works. These views were expressed by Dr. Muhammad Rafiq ul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Iqbal at and Philosophy, Islamia University Bahawalpur, in his keynote address at the international conference held at Yuzenshu University, Turkey. He further said that one of the major challenges facing the Islamic world in the present era is political instability. Allama Iqbal believed that the reason for this instability was the lack of strong and visionary leadership.

He argued that his own among Muslim Leaders to lead nations to progress and prosperity, one must have the qualities of courage, integrity and innovation. Iqbal believed that the establishment of an Islamic state based on the principles of justice and equality is necessary to overcome political instability in the Islamic world. Another major challenge facing the modern Islamic world is economic inequality. Allama Iqbal believed that Muslim nations should embrace economic development and promote entrepreneurship to overcome poverty and inequality. He suggested that the Islamic financial system should be reformed to align with modern concepts of finance and banking. Iqbal emphasized that Muslims should adopt a more inclusive economic system that promotes the spirit of cooperation and partnership. Religious extremism is one of the most important challenges affecting the modern Islamic world.
