Consul General of the US Consulate in Lahore Mr. William K. Makaneole, visited the IUB Bahawalnagar Campus

Bahawalpur, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Consul General of the American Consulate in Lahore Mr. William K. Makaneole, visited the Islamia University Bahawalnagar Campus yesterday. On this occasion Ms. Kathleen Gibilisco, Political and Economic Chief, Mr. Paul Garr, Public Affairs Officer and Amina Anas, Economist, were also with him. On arrival at Bahawalnagar Campus, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob welcomed the guests and gave them a detailed briefing about the ongoing teaching, research and development activities in all campuses of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The 7 campuses of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are spread across the three districts of Bahawalpur Division, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.

The number of students in the university is more than 65 thousand who are taught by 1800 faculty members in 148 departments. Mr. William K. Makaneole praised the university leadership and administration for the development projects of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, diversity of students from Punjab province and other parts of the country and research activities in all campuses and the excellent performance of the last few years. On this occasion, collaboration and cooperation between American educational institutions and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for teaching and research activities were also discussed. The American General Consul interacted with faculty officers and teachers and reviewed the curricular and co-curricular activities on campus.

Shifa International Hospital Installs State-of-the-Art 900KWP DC Solar Power System in Wake of Commitment Towards Sustainable Environment

GDA Hospital, Gwadar Organized Free Medical Mobile Camps

Karachi, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): GDA Hospital Gwadar, managed by Indus Hospital and Health Network, has launched a commendable initiative to bring free medical services directly to the doorsteps of residents in various suburbs of Gwadar. The Free Medical Mobile Camps, which began on Saturday, May 13, are a collaborative effort between Gwadar’s District Health Department and PPIH Gwadar. The camps are set to take place in different locations, with BHU Pishukan hosting on May 13 and May 17, BHU Nalient on May 14 and May 18, BHU Sarbandan on May 15 and May 19, and Belar Kalanch on May 16.

The primary objective of these medical camps is to ensure that individuals have access to essential healthcare facilities, including free check-ups, medications, and improved treatment options. The dedicated medical professionals and staff aim to address the healthcare needs of those in need and provide them with comprehensive care. Moreover, patients referred to GDA Hospital, Gwadar, will have the advantage of accessing a range of health services. Bahawalpur, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Special events and seminars were held in all campuses of Islamia University Bahawalpur on the occasion of Pakistan Martyrs Day. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that every patriotic Pakistani has great devotion and love for those who were martyred in the love of their soil. The eternal sacrifices of martyrs will always be remembered. Martyrs are our capital, because of their sacrifices we are living in free atmosphere. Today is the day of renewing the pledge to keep in mind the sanctity and sanctity of the martyrs and do not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the dear country.

The Vice-Chancellor visited the Martyrs Memorial in Bahawalpur Garrison this morning and paid tribute to the martyrs. Dr. Khawaja Junaid Mustafa has been appointed as the Chief Medical Officer

Islamabad, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Khawaja Junaid Mustafa as the new Chief Medical Officer of Shifa International Hospital. Dr. Junaid is an accomplished certified medical professional with extensive training and expertise in Emergency Medicine. He further honed his skills by earning a fellowship from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Emergency Medicine in Pakistan, and a certified professional in healthcare quality certification from the USA. He was trained and qualified in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in the UK.

He is the President of the Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine, a role in which he works to promote the development and advancement of Emergency Medicine in Pakistan. Dr. Junaid has also served as the Faculty Lead of Emergency Medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan (CPSP) for six years. Dr. Junaid brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. In his previous roles at Shifa International Hospital, he has worked as a Consultant and Program Director in Emergency Medicine and served as the Director of Clinical Risk Management. He is also an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Shifa College of Medicine.

Nearly 9 in 10 Pakistanis have not used any local public library: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 9 in 10 Pakistanis have not used any local public library.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the question, “Have you or anyone in your family used any local public library?” In response, 87% said no, 12% said yes and 1% did not respond or said that they did not know.
