University of Turbat has announced the BA/BSc. (ADA/ADS) Supplementary Examinations 2021 

Turbat, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, University of Turbat here on Monday, the candidates of BA/B.Sc. (ADA/ADS) supplementary examinations 2021, belonging to Government Ata Shad Degree College, Turbat, Government Girls Degree College Turbat, Government Boys Degree College Gwadar, Government Girls Degree College Gwadar, and Government Girls Degree College Panjgur are hereby informed that their examinations will be held from 5th October 2022.

All candidates can get their roll number slips from the office of their respective colleges. All candidates are also instructed to bring their original roll number slip and original identity card with them to appear in the examinations, otherwise, they will not be allowed to enter the examination centers.

UVAS won five competitive research funding projects from PARB 

Lahore, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore faculty members won the research funding projects by the Punjab Agriculture Research Board (PARB). Five faculty members from different departments and campuses of UVAS including Prof Dr Muhammad Younas (Principal KBCMA-CVAS), Dr Abdul Rehman (Department of Epidemiology and Public Health), Dr Muhammad Avais (Department of Veterinary Medicine), Dr Sadaqat Ali Chattha (Department of Leather and Fiber Technology) and Dr Sehrish Firyal (Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology) won the competitive research grants of worth Rs 46.954 million.

These projects have been awarded after a very rigorous process of several rounds and presentations. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim appreciated the dynamic UVAS faculty and Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and wished the faculty for the successful completion of these projects.

Earlier, the Departmental Development Sub-Committee (DDSC), Livestock Department Punjab has approved the Development Project of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore titled “Strengthening of Academic and Allied Facilities at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang” at total cost of Rs. 185.50 Million for execution during financial year (FY) 2022-23 and FY 2023-24. This project will help in strengthening of educational resources and provision of quality of veterinary education at CVAS Jhang.

Islam protects rights of each segment of Society: IIUI Rector

Islamabad, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):Principles of Islam protect rights of each segment in a society, this was said by Professor Dr. Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), during the concluding ceremony of a one day International Conference on “Social Protection; Practices, Experiences and Way Forward” jointly hosted by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Social Protection Resource Center (SPRC), Islamabad with the support of UNICEF, Pakistan, held at Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal Masjid Campus.

Focusing on the theme of the conference “Universal and Life-Course Social Protection as Way Forward” Dr. Masoom Yasinzai highlighted the scope of social Protection in the third world countries, IIUI Rector urged to adopt the golden principles of Islam. He also referred to the pain and misery of people facing flood in Pakistan. On this occasion Dr. Masoom shared the golden principles of Islam and stressed that Islam protects rights of each segment of a society. He congratulated Chairman, Sociology Department, Dr. Akhlaq Ahmad Social Protection Resource Center (SPRC) Islamabad for organizing this international conference and also thanked UNICEF, Pakistan for supporting the event.

Earlier، the inaugural session was presided over by Professor Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President (Academics), IIUI, who appreciated the efforts by the department of sociology and organizing team. He emphasized the importance of social Protection and its role in Pakistan in particular. Dr. Ayaz also stressed that this conference is the need of the hour and it’s the time for academia and practitioners to sit together and work jointly to overcome the challenges of the era.

Dr. Ayaz also shared the purpose of the conference is to encourage informal discussion and debate and termed it an opportunity to develop a network to share knowledge and experiences with others. Dr. Ayaz looked forward to continuing beyond this conference, the very stimulating and instructive exchange of ideas which would take place in this conference and trusts that all participants of the conference will take home inspiration on how to foster these ideas.

18% Pakistanis say that their house got flooded during the recent floods in Pakistan: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding,” There has been recent flooding in Pakistan, God forbid, did your house get flooded?” 18%of the respondents said, ‘Yes’ while 82% said ‘No’
