IBA Karachi and Maersk Pakistan come together to empower meritorious students 

Karachi, August 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and leading integrated logistics company Maersk Pakistan, have partnered to launch Maersk Future Leaders’ Scholarship with an aim to advance the Institute’s financial assistance program for its students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Executive Director, IBA Karachi, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi and Managing Director, Maersk Pakistan, Ms. Aruna Hussain signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IBA, City Campus.

Under this MoU, Maersk will set up an annual scholarship fund of around PKR 2.25 million at the Institute, to support a meritorious, undergraduate student from IBA’s National Talent Hunt Program (NTHP) for a period of four years. The scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree of Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from IBA. National Talent Hunt Program (NTHP) enrolls competent students on merit from various areas and offers them scholarships.

On this momentous occasion, Ms. Hussain said, “Our young talent deserves adequate support to build their careers through top notch education. By tying up with IBA to provide scholarship to such deserving students, we are playing our small role in building a bright future for our country.” She added, “We are not limiting our support to funding the student, but in fact going a step forward to mentor the student and add more value to this tie-up with IBA.”

Dr. Zaidi appreciated Maersk Pakistan for supporting IBA with its mission of providing quality education to all the students regardless of their financial backgrounds. To ensure inclusivity, the IBA, through its financial assistance program supports approximately 30% of its student body every year.

Punjab University Institute of Applied Psychology organized a webinar entitled “Enhancing Gratitude” 

Lahore, August 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Institute of Applied Psychology has arranged a series of webinars for creating Mental Health Awareness as a part of Independence Day Celebrations 2021 that would be continued till the end of August, 2021.The webinar by Ms. Hajra Farid who is a PhD Scholar at Institute of Applied Psychology was conducted on “Enhancing Gratitude”, Friday, 27th August, 2021 at 11:30 am.

The webinar was conducted through the platform of Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, chaired by the Director of Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, and moderated by Miss. Hamna Zahid. Our noble speaker explained what gratitude is and the importance of practicing gratitude in daily-life routine. It was an absorbing and an informative webinar that empowered participants to adapt the ways in order, to enhance gratitude. The webinar was live streamed through the official Facebook page of IAP.

Nation is grieved over the loss of precious lives in Karachi fire incident: PAT 

Lahore, August 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Central President PAT Qazi Zahid Hussain has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives in a fire at a chemical factory in Karachi. He said that we express our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and pray for the early recovery of the injured. He said that the whole nation is grieved over the deaths of 17 people in this tragedy. He directed the PAT workers to give blood donations for the injured.

Qazi Zahid Hussain asked the Sindh government to ensure the strict implementation of safety laws, stating that the occurrence of such incidents means that there are glaring loopholes in the implementation of rules that need to be bridged. He demanded that a thorough investigation needs to be carried out to determine the causes of the tragedy and offer recommendations to protect the lives of the workers. PAT President asked the government to announce financial assistance for the affected families. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace.
