Karachi: Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, Chairperson of the Global Aafia Movement, is currently in the United Kingdom at the invitation of Pakistani and other Muslim communities residing there. Her visit is centered on mobilizing support for the release and repatriation of her sister, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
According to Aafia Movement, Dr. Fowzia has addressed gatherings in London, Slough, Berkshire, Croydon, and Leicester. During these events, she briefed attendees on the developments in Dr. Aafia's case in the United States court. Dr. Fowzia urged supporters in the UK to engage with an online petition advocating for Dr. Aafia's release, which is available on the Aafia Movement’s website. The petition calls upon Field Marshal General Asim Munir to facilitate Dr. Aafia Siddiqui's release.
Dr. Fowzia, who has been campaigning for her sister's release since 2003, received a warm welcome in each city she visited during her UK tour. She marked her 60th birthday on September 14 while in the UK.
