Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the widespread devastation caused by heavy floods and rains across the regions of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
In a statement issued by the Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari extended heartfelt condolences to families who have experienced losses of life, property, livestock, and farmland due to the catastrophic weather conditions.
The President emphasized his solidarity with the affected communities during these challenging times. He acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces and emergency rescue teams, recognizing their valor and commitment to assisting the people in need.
In light of the ongoing crisis, President Zardari has instructed the Government of Sindh to brace for the anticipated influx of floodwaters expected to reach the province in the coming days.
Looking back at previous flood events in 2010 and 2022, the President expressed confidence in the resilience of the Pakistani people, urging them to confront the current adversity with similar fortitude.
