Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore organized an event, “Youm-e-Tashakur,” to honor the Pakistan Armed Forces for their response to Indian aggression and the successful execution of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. The event, marked by a walk through the university’s city campus, aimed to express gratitude and solidarity with the military.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Muhammad Younus and Brigadier (Retired) Babar Alauddin, Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Directorate of Evaluation, Feedback, Inspection, and Monitoring, led the walk. It began at the Vice-Chancellor’s office and concluded in front of the Main Lawn, gathering support from deans, faculty, students, and staff.
Participants in the walk chanted slogans and waved flags to show their support for the military’s actions. Brigadier Alauddin addressed the media, praising the armed forces for their effective response, including the downing of Indian fighter jets and the destruction of an Indian air defense system. He emphasized the army’s readiness to defend the nation.
Professor Dr. Younus echoed these sentiments, highlighting the army’s decisive actions and expressing the nation’s pride in its military forces. The event also featured a sapling planting by Brigadier Alauddin as part of the Plant for Pakistan campaign, promoting greenery on campus.
Similar activities were conducted at other UVAS campuses, including Ravi Campus Pattoki, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Jhang, Khan Bahadur Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Narowal, and Para-Veterinary Institute Karor Lal-Eason Layyah, further showcasing support for the Pakistan Armed Forces.
