University of Turbat Commemorates International Zero Waste Day with Awareness Drive

Turbat, The Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club at the University of Turbat (UoT) spearheaded an awareness session on zero waste policies and practices on March 29th, 2024, aligning with the global observance of International Zero Waste Day on March 30th. This event underscores the urgent need to address the escalating waste crisis through holistic and innovative solutions.

According to University of Turbat, the session featured enlightening discussions by students and faculty members, alongside recorded videos that underscored the importance of collective effort towards sustainability and environmental stewardship. The initiative aimed to illuminate the pressing environmental challenges and the principles of zero waste, advocating for the adoption of the 5Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot-Compost, and Raise Awareness) to curtail waste generation at the University. Emphasis was placed on nurturing sustainable consumption patterns and advancing environmental conservation efforts within the academic community.
