Lahore, The Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at the University of the Punjab has announced the public defense and viva voce examination of Ms. Abida Tehreem, a PhD scholar in the discipline of Public Health. The focus of the defense is a pertinent health issue in the Punjab region – the premarital screening of Thalassemia.

According to University of The Punjab, the defense is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The session will be held in the Committee Room of the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS). Ms. Tehreem’s dissertation, “Premarital Screening of Thalassemia in Punjab: Challenges and Prospects,” addresses a critical public health challenge and explores potential avenues for future developments in the region.

The announcement invites interested faculty members, along with M.Phil and PhD scholars, to attend the defense. Such events are integral to the university’s academic environment, fostering a culture of rigorous scholarly debate and advancing knowledge in significant public health domains.
