University of Sindh to Host Solidarity Rally for Kashmir

Jamshoro, The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has planned a rally on February 2 to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, coinciding with the observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5. This event is set to start at 10 am, leading from the Arts Faculty Building to the Central Library, under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro.

According to University of Sindh, Dr. Ghazala Panhwar, Director of the Bureau of Stags, announced that the rally aims to underscore the university community’s support for the Kashmiri cause. Following the rally, a speech ceremony at the Central Library will feature an address by the Vice Chancellor, culminating in a minute of silence in honor of the Kashmiri martyrs. The university has extended an invitation to its faculty and students to participate fully in the event, underscoring the importance of solidarity with Kashmir.

Furthermore, the University of Sindh’s Registrar, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jariko, has issued a notification stating that the university and all its campuses will be closed on Monday, February 5, 2024, in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, a nationwide public holiday. However, essential staff will remain on duty to ensure the continuity of critical operations during this time.

This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to social and political causes, offering a platform for the academic community to express its support for Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination.
