Lahore, The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore’s Continuing Engineering Education and Training Center recently hosted a workshop focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic course planning and delivery. The event, titled “Engaging Course Plan and Delivery Using AI Intervention,” was held at UET Lahore’s New Campus on June 6th, 2024, drawing participants from various engineering and scientific fields.
According to University of Engineering and Technology, the workshop featured Prof. Dr. S. Mohsin Ali Kazmi, Chairperson of the Chemical, Polymer, and Composite Materials Engineering Department, as the resource person. More than 25 individuals, including professionals from related organizations, attended the workshop, which included hands-on exercises on how AI tools like ChatGPT can enhance teaching methodologies. The sessions focused on developing both Low Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) and High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through AI interventions.
Participants were instructed on the potential biases in content generated by AI tools, emphasizing the need for critical review by educators before use in academic settings. The workshop concluded with Prof. Dr. Shahid Imran delivering closing remarks and the distribution of certificates to all participants, signifying the successful completion of the workshop and the importance of ethical AI use in education.
