U19 and Emerging Women’s Cricket Trials in Lahore Rescheduled Due to Weather Concerns

Lahore: The U19 and Emerging Women’s cricket trials organized under the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Talent Hunt Programme have been rescheduled in Lahore. Originally planned for Monday, 25 August, the trials will now take place on Thursday, 4 September at the LCCA Ground.

This change in schedule comes as a result of the forecasted persistent rains in the city, prompting organizers to adjust the itinerary to ensure participants’ safety and optimal playing conditions.

The trials are part of a nationwide initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent in women’s cricket. The updated schedule will see trials conducted in several cities across the country.

The trials in Rawalpindi/Islamabad are set for 26 August at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, followed by Peshawar on 27 August at Qayyum Stadium. Mardan and Quetta will both host trials on 28 August at their respective venues, Mardan Board Cricket Ground and Bugti Stadium.

In southern cities, Multan and Karachi will hold trials on 2 September at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High-Performance Centre and Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre, respectively. Bahawalpur’s trials will occur on 3 September at the Women Sports Stadium.

The rescheduled trials in Lahore will conclude the series of events on 4 September, providing aspiring cricketers in the region an opportunity to showcase their skills.

The Pakistan Cricket Board emphasizes the importance of these trials in contributing to the development of women’s cricket in the country.
