The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has observed World Rabies Day 2022

Bahawalpur, September 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):World Rabies Day is a Global Day of Awareness and advocacy to help raise the profile of rabies Neglected Tropical Disease. The Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has observed World Rabies Day in collaboration with Ghazi Brothers. The Department arranged a walk to create awareness about rabies. The company representative Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Bashir, Area Sales Manager, Multan, Ghazi Bothers elaborated the importance of prophylactic vaccination in dogs and cats against rabies.

Pet owners from the vicinity of the university visited the Veterinary Clinics along with their pet animals. Faculty members of the Department along with veterinary students thoroughly examined the pet animals and vaccinated only healthy ones sponsored by the Ghazi Brothers. In addition, the pet clients were also given useful tips to keep their animals healthy. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences graced the event by his presence and valuable guidelines.

The Dean appreciated the efforts of the Department under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum, and encouraged the faculty members, para-veterinary and supporting staff, and veterinary students for organizing such type of activities. The Dean also added that such type of activities are not only useful for the veterinary clients but also provide excellent opportunity to enhance the professional skills of veterinary students. He also said to continue such professional activities in future.
