Bahawalpur, November 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Geography, the Islamia University Bahawalpur celebrated International GIS day. The event was comprised of Map projects display of BS and MSc Geography students and awareness seminar on Geography and GIS under the patronage of Chairman Department of Geography Prof. Dr. Sher Muhammad Malik. College faculty including Head of Department Lunbna Hameed and Samira Safdar from Govt. Dubai Mahal Degree college along with 50 students, Mr. Javed Iqbal from Govt. Post graduate college Bahawalpur along with 20 students, Mr. Abdul Rauf, Mr. Mohsin, from Govt. SE college Bahawalpur also attended the celebration of International GIS day.
Event was inaugurated by worthy Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum. She visited displayed GIS based map projects of Geography students. Mr. Sajid Noor, Ms. Sana Arshad talk on GIS and Geography. Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum distributed certificates among volunteers, presenters, and participants of the event. She appreciated the efforts of Geography Department the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the progress and development of Geography and GIS.
