Islamabad, November 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Water Resources, Moonis Elahi, today presided over a meeting with Chairman IRSA Zahid Hussain Junejo in Ministry of Water Resources, therein he was briefed about current water situation, regulation and its distribution amongst the provinces, IRSA capacity building and installation of telemetry system on water distribution sites.
Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Minister said that being the part of positive development total rim stations inflows has been augmented by 27% as compared to the inflows in last year October. Previously, the inflows were 57800 Cusec which have been increased to 73400 Cusecs. These inflows are 11 % plus with respect to last ten years average of 65900 cusec. Provincial indents and releases to Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and KP (below) are 35000 Cs, 40000 Cs, 4000 Cs and 2500 Cs, respectively with no shortfall. He added. On Telemetry System, he was briefed that the matter was under process among the relevant institutions.
Moonis Elahi emphasized on expeditious execution of the project so as to build the confidence amongst the stakeholders regarding the accurate water distribution which is inevitably essential for the national harmony among the federating units. He further reiterated that Ministry of water resources will provide its due support in capacity building of IRSA.
