Rawalpindi: The Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh Jafaria Pakistan (TNFJ) has criticized the government’s response to ongoing terrorism in Parachinar and the enforcement of restrictions on mourning practices. Chief Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqdisi highlighted issues ranging from local and cross-border terrorism to the socioeconomic challenges impacting the nation, during a procession commemorating the tenth anniversary of Karbala.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Allama Muqdisi condemned the perceived indifference of government and peacekeeping forces toward the terrorism and violence affecting Parachinar. He expressed concerns over the enforcement of strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that restrict mourning practices, which he described as infringing on constitutional rights. The TNFJ leader called for support and protection for those mourning in accordance with their religious beliefs and traditions, emphasizing the need for empathy rather than enforcement of restrictive measures.
Allama Muqdisi also recounted historical resistance against authoritarian measures, citing the community’s past efforts to uphold fundamental rights during martial law and their defiance against dictatorial rule. He stressed the importance of maintaining cultural and religious practices as a source of solace and strength, particularly in times of national distress such as the current economic hardships faced by Pakistanis, including rising inflation and poverty.
The event also served as a platform for communal prayer and solidarity, with participants praying for peace and prosperity in the Islamic world, reinforcing the communal and spiritual bonds during times of crisis.
