Turbat, March 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): A Science Exhibition was organized by the students of the Education Department, University of Turbat (UoT). The event took place under the supervision of faculty member and course supervisor Hajira Akbar at UoT’s multipurpose hall. The exhibition featured innovative science projects based on satellites communication, water purification system, electricity generation in Pakistan, waste management, speed breaker power, accident prevention from electricity, liver structure and functions, human digestive system, kidney structure and functions, hydrological cycle, different states of matter and Solar heater.

The creative works of the students received due admiration from the visitors. The event was visited by faculty members, administrative staff, and students. Appreciating the creative works of the students, Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, Chairperson of the Education Department said that her department was planning to organize such events in the future to encourage and provide more opportunities and platforms for students to showcase their talents and creativity.

The expert Judges including Ms. Mahnaz Aslam and Ms. Mahnaz Bashir, faculty members of the education department evaluated the project model of each participant and announced the best three models based on creativity, originality, practicality, and relevancy of the model. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the position holders and participating students.

Turbat, March 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): English Department of the University of Turbat (UoT) held a welcome ceremony for the fresh batch of students in its BS program. The event brimmed with a number of skits, song competitions, cultural dramas, and other performances. The audience was enthralled by the amazing show of talent on the part of the students.

Dean of Social Sciences Prof Dr. Abdul Saboor, Chairman of English Department Amjid Habib, Assistant Professor Dr. Shah Mir Baloch, Mr. Maher Ali, and other faculty members attended the program. In the end, Chairman English Department Amjid Habib, and Dr. Shah Mir Baloch delivered speeches praising the efforts of the organizers and heartily welcomed the new batch to the department.

Turbat, March 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): An online session on “Entrepreneurship as a Career Choice and Entrepreneurial Opportunities for Youth of Balochistan” was held at the University of Turbat (UoT) on 9th March 2023 in the Video Conference Room of the university.

The participants of the session were students from various departments of the university. Mr. Bashir Agha, Manager, of the National Incubation Center (NIC) at the University of Balochistan, and Consultant, Trainer, and Entrepreneurial expert was the resource person of the session.

The session was organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) in collaboration with the National Expansion Plan of NIC, University of Balochistan. Mr. Bashir Agha discussed various business opportunities for the youth of Balochistan and explained the Business Canvas Model.

Dr. Ghulam Jan, Director of ORIC thanked the resource person for sharing his expertise during the session. He said he looked forward to organizing more sessions at Turbat University in collaboration with the University of Balochistan in the future.

Turbat, March 09, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, University of Turbat (UoT) vehemently commemorated “International Mendel’s Day” and “International Women’s Day” at UoT here on 8th March 2023. On this occasion, the students of the Natural and Basic Sciences Department arranged a poster competition multimedia presentation to highlight the impacts of Mendel’s work on the social fabric of our society, with special emphasis on the impact on women.

Besides highlighting the role of women in the development of any society, the objective of the event was also to raise awareness among the masses about cousin marriages and to provide community solutions to combat misinformation regarding genetics.

The UoT’s Registrar Ganguzar Baloch along with Ijaz Ahmed, Director of Public Relations, and Meer Bahad, Protocol Officer visited the poster competition and appreciated the creative works of the students. Appreciating the efforts of the faculty members of the Natural and Basic Sciences Department for organizing such a creative event, Ganguzar Baloch said that the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences is one of the vibrant teaching departments at the university.

He said that it is heart-warming that besides education and research activities, the students of Turbat University are playing an instrumental role in arranging and organizing extracurricular activities as well. He said that such activities would carry a great deal of social awareness and educate the masses. He called for collective efforts to raise awareness regarding various challenges faced by women in our society.

He said that this world can become more peaceful and prosperous when everyone, regardless of race and gender has equal opportunities to succeed. The competition was also visited by faculty members, administrative staff, and students in large numbers.
