UE Annual Budget of 2022-23 Approved by the Syndicate 

Lahore, July 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 67th meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Education, Lahore was held yesterday i.e. on July 4, 2022, in which the annual budget of the University for the Financial Year 2022-23 of worth Rs. 3499.431 million was approved. Out of which Rs. 673.347 million have been allocated for development budget while Rs. 2826.084 million for non-development budget.

The Syndicate also approved the establishment of University Development Office to enhance revenue generation from non-traditional sources to support the financial autonomy of the University. During its meeting, Syndicate also approved the collaboration with Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, China for joint Doctoral and Master Training Program in History, Arts and Culture Heritage.

On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) told the members of the syndicate that University of Education, Lahore signed agreement with University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore to enhance the online and blended pedagogical skills of teachers and bring the teaching system in line with modern requirements under International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) Program launched in Pakistan in collaboration with UNESCO. He said that we are also going towards solar energy system to overcome the energy crises.

In this regard, tender has been issued for Main Campus of the University. Smart Class Rooms were also established in university with the collaboration of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. We are now providing free internet services to all our students so that they may be meet the international standard of education, he added. Vice-Chancellor said that infrastructure of the University including labs and others things have been strengthening day by day.

Achievement of UE Faculty Members

Lahore, June 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):The faculty members of the University of Education, Lahore have won an international accolade by the status of Associate Fellow (AFHEA) against the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Learning Support in the Higher Education Department. Dr. Farzana Yousaf, Assistant Professor, Department of STEM Education, Bank Road Campus, and Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Division of Science and Technology have achieved this status.

Another Faculty Member of the University of Education, Lahore from the Department of STEM Education (DoE), Assistant Professor Dr. Aisha Mahmood won the status of Associate Fellow (AFHEA) against the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Learning Support in the Higher Education Department.

Under the International Institute of Online Education Program UE M.Phil. Scholars wins the first Online Courses Competition-Courseware 

Lahore, June 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):The M.Phil. Scholars of the University of Education, Lahore wins the first Online Courses Competition-Courseware under the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) program. This program was launched in Pakistan in collaboration with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In this competition more than 200 teachers from 45 countries of Asia Pacific participated. According to the results of this competition, under the supervision of Dr. Aisha Mahmood, Faculty Member, University of Education, M.Phil. Scholars Sadia Nawaz and Qaratulain Sarwat won “first” and “special” positions respectively.

The first IIOE Online Course Competition aimed to offer a great chance for teachers from IIOE partner HEIs to showcase and improve their experience and skills in Online and Blended Teaching and learning (OBTL) pedagogy. UE Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) congratulated the winning students and encouraged them with presenting certificates at his office, yesterday. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor said that International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) Program is very beneficial for teachers and students, hence we should try our level best to make it successful in our country.

UE and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, China signed an agreement to establish “Culture and Education Cooperation and Exchanging Centre”

Lahore, June 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, China signed an agreement to establish “Culture and Education Cooperation and Exchanging Centre” on June 9, 2022. The signing ceremony of the agreement was held online and the signatory was Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) from the University of Education, Lahore, Pakistan and Chancellor and Chairman Mr. Zhen Zhongyi from Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, China. Hebei Academy of Fine Arts (HBAFA) is a full-time undergraduate Academy of Fine Arts approved by the Ministry of Education and one of the nine independently established Academies of Fine Arts in China.

According to the agreement, this Centre will be established at the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts in China and the University of Education in Pakistan for better communication, cooperation, exchanges in PhD and M. Phil degree Programs and to provide quality education and training to the students pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in History, Arts and Cultural Heritage through professional professors. This collaboration is devoted to build the first-level of One Belt One Road (OBOR) research community in the areas of History, Arts, Cultural Heritage or other key topics, and academic projects from the Governments of China and Pakistan.

Under this program, students from HABFA, China will come to the University of Education to get higher education in History, Arts and Cultural Heritage and the same University of Education students will go HABFA. Moreover, both institutions will jointly organize the Conferences/Seminars/Symposiums/ summer and winter training camps for students and faculty. In addition, the faculty of the two institutions will also conduct joint research projects in the fields of history, arts and cultural heritage. Director Division of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Waheed ur Rehman, Director External Linkages, Dr. Muhammad Anwar, Chairperson Department of History and Arts, University of Education, Dr. Muhammad Abrar Ahmad and others were also present on the occasion.

University of Education signed MoU for Research, Professional Development and Promotion of Culture

Lahore, June 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between University of Education, Lahore and Oman and Chinese companies at the University’s Lower Mall Campus on June 8, 2022. UE Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I) graced the ceremony with his special appearance. The companies are Longi Green Energy Technology Co. Limited, China and Muscat Thread Mills, Oman. According to the memorandums, all stakeholders will ensure the promotion for development and innovation in the field of education and research with mutual cooperation. LONGI Solar and Muscat Thread Mills will offer several benefits to UE students of Business School and Center for Professional Development (CPD). CPD can start open enrollment programs and invite speakers from LONGI solar.

These MoUs will open the door to research and collaboration on various projects together. LONGI and Muscat Thread commits to the arrangement of cooperation on new or existing academic programs. The companies arrange visits to either institutions or staff discussions also for their work and training for doctoral students’ research preparation and development. It opens the door to tie-ups with various international universities to offer study programs to help students and scholars gain international perspectives in their chosen field of study. Both agreed to create opportunities for students and scholars and also to exchange research ideas with educational legends in universities.

Cooperative seminars, workshops, and other academic meetings will play a key role in the success of this cooperation. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that like the progressive world, Let us strengthen the links between our educational institutions, especially universities and industries, so that the real goals of education can be achieved. He said the University of Education, Lahore has begun its work to achieve this goal, as evidenced by today’s agreement with national and foreign companies. “We can make our future better by promoting a culture of research,” he added. Director, Division of Management and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Tufail, Chairperson UE Business School Dr. Rabb Nawaz Lodhi and Manager CPD Mr. Rashid Saleem among others were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between UE, Division of Arts and Social Sciences and Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PILAC), Information and Culture Department, Punjab. According to the signed MoU joint efforts will be made to promote the Punjabi culture, art and language. UE Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) and Director General PILAC signed the MoU. Director Division of Arts and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Waheed-ur-Rehman and many others were present on the occasion.
