Lahore, November 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):Office of Internationalization of UMT celebrated the 1st edition of International Day on Diversity. Director Office of Internationalization Asif Saeed Haider hoisted the flag ceremony of Yemen and Pakistan. Director-General UMT Abid HK Shirwani graced the occasion with his presence. To promote cultural diversity traditional dances of Afghanistan, Yemen, Turkey, and Pakistan were performed in the ceremony. A large number of overseas students participated while putting up their exhibition stalls.

Speaking on the occasion, DG UMT Abid Sherwani said that without investment in higher education there is no way to compete with other nations of the world. Students of UMT are from different countries, races, and religions, and have different interests, skills, and beliefs which promote peace and make UMT an interesting place to study.

DG UMT said that universities must come forward to play their role in the development of cultural harmony. He further said that we at UMT are providing equal opportunities to every student irrespective of the differences of Sindhi, Balochi, or Pathan in order to excel as one nation by becoming better citizens and contributing to the community. He also added that the students from UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Yemen are getting higher education on scholarships at UMT.

Director Office of Internationalization Asif Saeed Haider said that diversity and globalization together made us all sit together at one platform in UMT. He commended the leadership role of President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad and said that he always comes up with innovative ideas. He wished all the students a bright future in their respective disciplines.

Lahore, November 15, 2021 (PPI-OT):UMT Orientation Committee in collaboration with PRS-ORG is going to organize the Freshmen Orientation and Welcome Dinner for Fall 2021 participants of School of Health Sciences. The freshmen orientation program is a powerful way to build trust, a feeling of belonging, and connection between participants, faculty, staff and will serve as breakthrough cultural, social, and other barriers, as we share food and stories.

The program agenda includes welcoming of the participants, introduction and description of the school and the programs, recitation of the Holy Quran, National anthem, motivational talks as well as display of stalls by Office of Participant Affairs (OPA).

Classes of the School of Health Sciences will commence from November 16, 2021.

The program agenda includes welcoming of the participants, introduction, and description of the school and the programs, recitation of the Holy Quran, National anthem, exciting skits and performances by Office of Participant Affairs (OPA) clubs and societies followed by a scrumptious dinner.

Lahore, November 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Dr. Nouman Khalid is the Director at School of Food and Agricultural Sciences (SFAS) at UMT. He is a HEC approved supervisor in the field of agriculture and food technology. He has extensive experience in formulating new emulsifiers, extraction of surface-active molecules and encapsulation of highly volatile bioactive compounds. He also works on food safety and has excellent expertise in food safety and quality management systems. He published over 150 articles in highly impacted research Journals with over 100 published.

Recently, in a new study led by scientists from Stanford University published a comprehensive list that identified the top 2% scientists worldwide. The name of Dr. Nouman Khalid was included in the list. This database included the top 2 percent of scientists of the world from different fields on the basis of standardized citation indications. It included information on the number of citations, H-Index, co-authorship, and a composite indicator.

Stanford University published two types of ranking lists:

1) List of scientists who are ranked from 1995 to present

2) List of current year’s scientists

We congratulate Dr. Nouman Khalid for being ranked among the top scientists of the world.

Lahore, November 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Director School of Food and Agricultural Sciences (SFAS) Dr. Nouman Khalid has been ranked amongst the top 2 percent scientists in the world, according to the results of a study led by researchers from Stanford University conducted to establish a comprehensive database of the world’s most frequently cited scientists. This database includes the top 2 percent scientists of the world from different fields on the basis of standardized citation indications, among other variables.

The HEC-approved supervisor in the field of agriculture and food technology, Dr. Nouman Khalid has extensive experience in formulating new emulsifiers, the extraction of surface-active molecules and the encapsulation of highly volatile bioactive compounds. With considerable expertise in food safety and quality management systems, he has published over 150 articles from which 100 have been published in high impact research journals. The University of Management and Technology extends its congratulations to Dr. Nouman Khalid on being ranked amongst the top scientists of the world.
