MoU signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan and Kohsar University Murree

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Dean Faculty of Law and Dr. M. Imran Rasheed, Head of Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management visited the Kohsar University Murree (KUM).

On this occasion Prof. Dr. Syed Habib Bukhari, Vice Chancellor and administration of Kohsar University Murree welcomed the participants. The two Vice Chancellors signed an MoU of cooperation and collaboration between the both institutes and agreed to enhance the cooperation and to start the students and faculty exchange specifically in the areas of tourism and hospitality management education and training.

IUB Students from Department of Physiology visited BVH and RBC BWP

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):In the last few years, blood disorders such as Thallasemia are on the rise. Such patients always need a continued supply of blood. Donors are quite less in the country and it gets difficult to timely arrange blood for such patients. In this context, the department of Physiology visited the Regional Blood Centre, Bahawal Victoria Hospital along with its students of BS Physiology.

The students were showed state-of-the-art set up of the centre. The different sections of the centre were visited and processing of blood samples being carried out at this facility was briefed by Syed Fayyaz, Manager Blood Mobilization of the centre. Syed Fayyaz and Dr. Umer Farooq endorsed upon escalated awareness to the masses regarding thalassemia and other blood disorders. It was further discussed how the two departments can work in collaboration for increased blood donation services.

OIC Pakistan has shortlisted their representative from IUB

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Model OIC Pakistan has shortlisted their representative from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Model Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Mahin Khan, the student of Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences has been selected as the President.

The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, based in Turkey is an academic simulation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which aims at educating participants about current trends in theory and practice of International relations, effective communication and multilateral diplomacy. The Model OIC Academic Training and Diplomatic Simulation Program (Model OIC), which form part of the 14-priority Joint Youth Action Plan, was adopted by the 3rd Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Minister and approved by the 43rd Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

IUB organized International Virtual Symposium on Infodemic Management

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Department of Library and Information Science, organized a two-days Virtual International Symposium on Infodemic Management: How mis (dis) and mal-information can affect the world and how to swamp the landscape of information disorder with accurate information. During inaugural ceremony Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Symposium Patron-in-Chief, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences highlighted that the scale of the crisis and ubiquity of the misleading information demand that scientists, healthcare professionals, information professionals, public health experts, social scientists, psychologists, journalists, and policymakers see it as their professional responsibility to help the general public identify fake news stories.

MoU signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Peace and Culture Organization

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Under the Memorandum of Understanding between Islamia University Bahawalpur and Peace and Culture Organization, the Kashmir issue will be highlighted nationally and internationally. In this regard, a Kashmir Society will be formed which will promote research activities to effectively present the Kashmir issue in international institutions. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor and Ms. Mushaal Hussein Mullick in Islamabad.

Students and faculty of Islamia University Bahawalpur will raise their voices as ambassadors and work on research projects for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue so that human rights violations and legal aspects can be effectively highlighted. The UN Security Council resolution paves the way for the right to self-determination, and it is need of the how to highlight this resolution internationally, the Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur said on this occasion while Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Dean Faculty of Law and Zafar Sindhu were also present.

IUB with collaborations organized a free Homeopathic Medical camp

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):A free Homeopathic Medical camp was organized by University Collage of Conventional Medicine the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Kamal Laboratories, Blossom Laboratories and Association of Graduate Homeopaths. As many as 360 patients suffering from different disorders were given medical treatment by faculty members of Homeopathic discipline and provided free medicine.

Facility of Free ultrasound was also provided in the camp. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Asif, Principal, University College of conventional Medicine appreciated and encouraged the faculty members and students for organizing this free medical camp. Students of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery actively participated in the medical camp.
