Lahore, July 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pearson Education and Beaconhouse School System, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the provision of assessment services and international academic qualifications to support students’ learning by offering world class qualifications.

The MoU signing ceremony was held here on Wednesday at a local hotel, and was signed by Kasim Kasuri, Chief Executive (CE) Beaconhouse, and Emma Whale, Vice President International Sales and Marketing, Pearson Schools Qualifications. The ceremony was attended by the senior leadership team from both organizations, including Premila Paulraj, Director Employability and Qualifications, Pearson South Asia, and Ali Ahmed Khan, Chief Operating Officer Beaconhouse.

Under the MoU, Pearson will facilitate the digital transformation required for the International GCSE examinations to be conducted onscreen and online, along with mock exams via the Mocks Service, marked by Pearson examiners. Beaconhouse will initially be offering Pearson Edexcel IGCSE qualifications at three branches, and will later expand to other branches.

In addition to this, Pearson will also offer course preparation e-books to students in all available subjects, as well as online teacher training courses to prepare teachers for the relevant Pearson Edexcel exam syllabus.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, CE Beaconhouse, Kasim Kasuri stated, “At Beaconhouse, we have always strived to go the extra mile to bring better academic opportunities for our students. Speaking on the occasion, Emma Whale, Vice President International Sales and Marketing, Pearson Schools Qualifications, termed the MoU a milestone towards students’ online advanced learning opportunities in Pakistan. Lahore, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Beaconhouse, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions, under its recently introduced Hybrid A Level school, titled Homebridge, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust (SNPET), to offer scholarships to Sanjan Nagar students over a period of 5 academic years. The MoU was signed between Harris Sufyan, Project Director at Homebridge by Beaconhouse, and Beena Raza, Member of Board of Trustees, Sanjan Nagar Trust, at a ceremony held in Lahore.

Under this partnership, Beaconhouse will offer merit-based financial assistance to five students registered under SNPET, to cover their admission fee, tuition fee, laboratory charges, LMS (Learning Management System) enrollment, textbooks, and other fees required for various extra-curricular activities. Beaconhouse will also provide necessary devices, including a laptop or a tablet, along with internet connectivity for each student, as required for academic progress in the Hybrid A Level programme.

Commenting on the partnership, Nassir Kasuri, Executive Director at Beaconhouse stated, “The Hybrid A Level programme offered by Homebridge is focused on providing a long-term alternative to on-campus education to the masses who have limited access to high-standard international programmes. Lahore, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Beaconhouse, the country’s largest network of private educational institutions, and FranklinCovey Education, a trusted leadership and training company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the ‘Leader In Me’ programme, a school transformational model and process that empowers students with leadership and life skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century.

FranklinCovey’s Leader in Me is an evidence-based training model, developed by educators to build resilience and leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and help improve academic achievement. This model equips students, educators, and families with the leadership and life skills needed to thrive, adapt, and contribute in a dynamic world. The MoU was signed by Kasim Kasuri, Chief Executive (CE) at Beaconhouse and Fazal Niazi, Practice Lead FranklinCovey Education, Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Under this MoU, Beaconhouse School System will have access to the Leader In Me curriculum and a license to use FranklinCovey’s intellectual property, including books meant for Grades 3 to 5 that include skills such as critical thinking, creativity, self-discipline, relationship building, and goal achievement for learners. These books will supplement the personal, social, health, and emotional (PSHE) curriculum through valuable insights and teaching resources. Students and parents will also have access to the Student Schoolyard site by Leader in Me.

In addition to the above, the collaboration also makes Beaconhouse School System the first exclusive partner for the ‘Train the Trainer’ programme. With this partnership in place between Beaconhouse and FranklinCovey Education, Pakistan is third in school strength for the Leader in Me programme after the United States and Brazil.

This nomination is for the category of ‘Community Collaboration’ and Beaconhouse is the only school in Pakistan to receive this nomination.

T4 is a global digital platform that celebrates, recognizes, and shares the stories of schools that are leading with innovative practices aimed at transforming the lives of students and making a real difference to their communities. Islamabad, June 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):In a ceremony held at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, Founder and Chairperson of Beaconhouse Group, has been presented with the honorary Living Legend Award by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in recognition of her invaluable role towards the development of the education sector in Pakistan over four and a half decades.

The award ceremony was moderated by Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Executive Director at SDPI and hosted a panel of distinguished speakers, including Shahid Hafeez Kardar, former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and Vice-Chancellor of Beaconhouse National University (BNU); Salima Hashmi, art curator, and former Dean of the National College of Arts; Dr Feriha Peracha, Director and Supervising Psychologist at Sabaoon Project; Sartaj Aziz, former Federal Minister and former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of Pakistan; Dr Ishrat Hussain, former Dean and Director Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Chairman of the National Commission of Government Reforms; Dr Salman Shah, former Finance Minister of Pakistan and advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab and Ambassador (retired) Shafqat Kakakhel, former UN Assistant Secretary General and Chairperson of SDPI. The award ceremony was attended by prominent diplomats, media persons, and representatives from the education sector.

On behalf of the Institute, Ambassador (retd) Shafqat Kakakhel, the former UN Assistant Secretary-General and Chairperson of SDPI Board of Governors, presented the award to Mrs Kasuri at the event. SDPI’s Living Legend Award is bestowed upon those visionary individuals, who have achieved excellence in diverse fields, including sustainable development, educational and cultural advancement, and the promotion of democratic governance, justice and human rights. The selection of the award recipients is done without any political, ethnic, denominational or gender-based considerations.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Shafqat Kakakhel lauded the role of the living legend for introducing the quality learning system in Pakistan 46 years ago through the Beaconhouse School System. He said: “We have gathered here to pay tributes to Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri in recognition of her outstanding and unique contributions to the promotion of high-quality education from primary up to the higher secondary and even university levels in Pakistan.

Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Kasuri said, “I am truly honoured to receive this acknowledgement from SDPI. It brings me great pride to see what started as a vision to provide quality education to the children of Pakistan over four decades ago is setting new benchmarks today. It has been a lifetime of learning for me and inculcating values of learning onto thousands of whom have passed out from the Beaconhouse system over the years. Education is fundamental for nation building and I remain committed to offering the skills needed to stand proud and play a role in the future of a prosperous Pakistan.”

Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri established Les Anges Montessori Academy in Lahore in 1975 and set the foundation for the Beaconhouse network which has now developed into Pakistan’s largest setup of private educational institutions catering to over 315,000 students. Employing 62 percent women at Beaconhouse, Mrs. Kasuri’s role has remained pivotal in women empowerment in Pakistan in addition to quality education, offering these women economic opportunities and financial independence. In 2006, she was awarded the Sitaara-e-Eisaar by the Government of Pakistan for her philanthropic contributions to society.

SDPI, established under the Pakistan National Conservation Strategy, is a non-profit organization that serves as a source of expertise for policy analysis and development, policy intervention, and policy programme advisory. The institute focuses on strengthening civil society through research and collaborations and keeps the country’s development as its top agenda. Through this award, SDPI has earlier extended its gratitude to Madam Nisar Aziz Butt, Agha Nasir, Munnu Bhai, Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan, Mr Iftikhar Arif, Mr Sartaj Aziz, and Syed Babar Ali Shah. This recognition for Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri by SDPI is a tribute to her efforts towards building generations of young Pakistani men and women into educated, progressive individuals.

Karachi, May 16, 2022 (PPI-OT):United Charter Schools (UCS), a project of Beaconhouse Group, has successfully signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading educationists to franchise seven more facilities of the UCS with the aim to play an important role in the provision of quality education of an international standard to generations of young Pakistanis. To celebrate the occasion, a dinner was hosted by United Charter Schools at the Pearl Continental, Karachi.

Fatima Kasuri, Project Director at the United Charter Schools presided over the signing ceremonies, along with Naveen Shahid Butt, Deputy Director; Omar Mushtaq, Senior Manager Business Development; and Haseebullah Qureshi, Regional Head at UCS.
