Sunni Tehreek Leader Calls for National Unity on Palestine, Supports TLP Demands

Rawalpindi/Islamabad: Muhammad Shadab Raza Naqshbandi, the head of Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, has voiced strong support for the Tehreek-e-Labeek Pakistan (TLP)’s ongoing sit-in for Palestinian solidarity, urging the government to address both domestic and international issues related to the conflict.

According to Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, Naqshbandi made these remarks during a special appearance at the TLP’s sit-in. He called on the Pakistani government to convene an all-party conference to formulate a unified national strategy on Palestine. This conference should include government and opposition parties as well as non-parliamentary groups. Naqshbandi emphasized the need for practical solidarity with Palestinians, such as imposing an official ban on Israeli products and deploying Pakistani peacekeeping forces under Sunni Tehreek’s leadership.

The Sunni Tehreek leader also highlighted the ineffectiveness of the United Nations in resolving the Palestinian issue, criticizing global and regional organizations for their lackluster response to what he termed Israeli war crimes. He demanded that Israel be internationally recognized as a terrorist state and subjected to a social boycott.

Further, Naqshbandi criticized the media coverage ban on the TLP sit-in, labeling it a suppression of free speech and a stain on democracy. He also remarked on the broader geopolitical manipulation of Muslim states by international financial institutions like the IMF and the World Bank, which he claimed restricted the sovereign expression of Muslim nations.

The event was well-attended by leaders from various levels of the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and other religious scholars, illustrating a broad support base for Naqshbandi’s calls for action on both the domestic front concerning TLP’s demands and the international stage regarding Palestine.
