Sindh Government’s Spending Criticized Amid Poverty, Protests Planned

Karachi: In response to the Sindh government’s recent purchase of 138 wagons for 2 billion rupees, criticism has emerged from various community sectors, citing concerns about exacerbating financial strains akin to those imposed by IMF loans. This expenditure comes at a time when the region is grappling with significant poverty issues, prompting plans for a public demonstration.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, the protest is scheduled to take place outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday at 4:30 pm. PDP Chairman Altaf Shakur, along with other leaders, is set to address the attendees. The demonstration aims to voice disapproval of the government’s spending decisions and highlight the socio-economic challenges facing the people of Sindh.

The party has urged media outlets to cover the event, emphasizing the importance of public awareness and advocacy in addressing these critical issues. The planned protest underscores a growing discontent among the population, as economic decisions by the government are scrutinized against the backdrop of the community’s hardships.
