Research Positions Available at University of Peshawar Under HEC NRPU Project

Peshawar, The Department of Geology at the University of Peshawar has announced vacancies for project-based positions under the National Research Program for Universities – Higher Education Commission project No: 17227. The project, titled “Assessing Rare Metals availability in Pakistan for their use in Photovoltaic Solar Cells to Produce Inexhaustible Renewable Electricity from Sunlight,” is funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

According to University of Peshawar, candidates possessing substantial knowledge in Geology are encouraged to apply. The roles involve assisting the project Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PIs with project work, conducting chemical analyses in the laboratory, preparing project reports, writing manuscripts, and presenting data. The selection criteria will focus on the candidates’ expertise in geology and their potential to contribute effectively to the project.

The initial contract for the positions will be for a period of one year, extendable for another year based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds from the funding agency. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications, including email addresses and cell phone numbers, along with attested testimonials to the Geology office, Department of Geology, University of Peshawar, within 10 days of the advertisement date (December 29, 2023).

The notice also specifies that only short-listed candidates will be called for an interview through their provided email addresses or contact numbers. No separate call letters will be issued for the interview. Applicants are advised to bring their original certificates and testimonials at the time of the interview.

A key requirement for applicants is that they must be enrolled in the MS/MPhil Geology program at the time of the interview. Selection will be made from students currently enrolled in the MS/MPhil Geology/Material Sciences program at the University of Peshawar and its affiliated centers.

The interview is scheduled for January 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Department of Geology, University of Peshawar.
