Rawalpindi Celebrates “World Day of Peace” in Honor of Hazrat Imam Hasan Mujtaba’s Birth

Rawalpindi, The birthday of Hazrat Imam Hasan Mujtaba (AS), celebrated across Rawalpindi with religious fervor and reverence, was marked as the “World Day of Peace.” This commemoration, initiated by Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi, sought to highlight the peaceful teachings and virtuous character of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), emphasizing his role as a symbol of peace and harmony in a time of widespread conflict.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the day’s events began with the recitation of the Holy Quran at Suhri, followed by a series of Milad gatherings, meetings, conferences, seminars, and other congratulatory events organized with the aim of spreading the message of peace as embodied by Hazrat Imam Hasan (AS). Allama Syed Qamar Haydar Zaidi, speaking at Izakhana Masooma Qom, stressed that the teachings of Imam Hasan are crucial for guaranteeing peace in the contemporary world beset by wars and strife.

The celebration also included addresses by scholars and preachers who elaborated on the life and contributions of Imam Hasan (AS), including his significant sermon in the mosque of Kufa that underscored the conditions of peace and conflict during his Imamate. The attendees pledged their allegiance to follow the path shown by Imam Hasan (AS), embracing his conditions for peace and leadership.

The events across Rawalpindi also featured recitations of Qasidas and addresses by various Zakirs, who spoke on the legacy of Imam Hasan (AS) and the challenges he faced, including the conspiracies of Bani Umayyad. The gatherings not only commemorated the Imam’s birth but also served to remind the attendees of the importance of peace, justice, and the fight against oppression.
