LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali has expressed strong support for the Pakistan Army in light of recent confrontations with India. During a rally organized by the Punjab University Academic Staff Association on Thursday, Prof Ali commended the army’s response to what he described as Indian aggression, asserting that it has once again demonstrated its stature as the world’s top military force.
The rally saw participation from various university associations, including the Academic Staff Association, Officers Welfare Association, and Administrative and Technical Staff Association. Teachers, employees, and students, including school children, gathered to express solidarity with the military, raising slogans against India and in favor of the Pakistan Army.
In his address, Prof Ali emphasized national unity and resilience. “The Pakistani nation is united; we were alive yesterday and we are still alive today,” he declared. He asserted the nation’s readiness to respond to any threats, stating, “We want peace, but Modi has started a war, and we will end it.”
Prof Ali assured the armed forces of the university’s unwavering support, remarking, “Whenever the army calls, we will come to the border and fight.” He vowed to protect the country, pledging commitment “till the last drop of blood.”
Dr. Amjad Abbas Magsi, President of the Academic Staff Association, criticized India for what he termed as “low tactics” and reaffirmed the commitment to Pakistan’s integrity and security. “We pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army,” he said, expressing readiness to confront aggression on every platform.
Dr. Muhammad Islam also addressed the rally, highlighting the strength and resilience of the Pakistani nation. “The enemy has no idea which nation it has challenged,” he stated, signaling preparedness for any future confrontations.
The rally underscored the university’s collective stance alongside the military amid rising regional tensions, sending a clear message of solidarity and readiness to defend national sovereignty.
