Punjab University Enhances Alumni Engagement at 132nd Convocation

Lahore, The Punjab University Alumni Office (PUAO) marked its dynamic presence at the 132nd Convocation Ceremony of the University of the Punjab, reinforcing its commitment to strengthen ties with its alumni.

According to University of The Punjab, the newly established full-time PUAO shared its vision for enhancing the university’s connection with its alumni. The convocation witnessed a significant number of graduates registering with the alumni database, demonstrating a keen interest in joining the PU alumni community and offering collaborative support for students, graduates, and the university.

The university has updated its alumni website and initiated online registrations, aiming to connect with alumni globally. Efforts are underway to develop effective communication channels, including appointing focal persons in each department to coordinate with the central alumni office.

The convocation was attended by notable personalities including the Chancellor and Governor Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman, and Mr. Mansoor Qadir, Minister for Higher and School Education. The event saw the participation of various university dignitaries, Senate, and Syndicate members.

Dr. Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry highlighted the proud moment for Punjab University as 1100 graduates across departments and institutes received their accolades. Distinguished alumni were invited, including individuals serving in top positions in various fields.

Dr. Chaudhry emphasized the PUAO’s vision of mutually beneficial alumni engagement. He noted that the 141-year-old university has alumni in leading organizations, businesses, and notable achievements. The PUAO aims to recognize and leverage this untapped talent, bridging gaps between academia and industry, and inspiring students and graduates towards success.

The alumni’s involvement is seen as vital for providing career support, opportunities, scholarships, and fundraising, thereby enhancing the overall academic and professional ecosystem of the university.
