Rawalpindi, The Punjab Arts Council recently hosted an impressive painting exhibition in collaboration with VSCOPK. The event was graced by Director General Syed Bilal Haider as the chief guest. The exhibition featured over 70 art pieces created by students from the twin cities.
According to Punjab Arts Council, Syed Bilal Haider, the Director General, inaugurated the exhibition and acknowledged the efforts of the participating students by distributing certificates of appreciation. Following the exhibition, a Board of Management meeting was convened under his chairmanship. The meeting saw the participation of key members including Asma Butt, Babar Niazi, Aslam Mughal, Mohammad Azim Iqbal, Director Waqar Ahmed, Deputy Director Mohammad Shakur, Assistant Director Mohammad Suleman, and Internal Auditor Saqlain Mehmood, along with Waqar Ali.
During the meeting, Director General Haider briefed the board members on the council’s objectives and future plans. He announced the organization of a national-level drama festival, inviting teams from all four provinces of Pakistan. The council will also host provincial-level singing and painting competitions in the upcoming months of February and March.
Furthermore, Haider disclosed the establishment of an Artist Entrepreneur Fund worth Rs. 1 billion, aimed at supporting artists, artisans, and fine arts graduates. This initiative includes the provision of interest-free loans of up to Rs. 25 lakh. He also revealed plans to set up new arts councils in every district of Punjab and to launch arts classes province-wide to promote artistic talents.
The event concluded with the Director General of the Punjab Arts Council expressing gratitude to all members for their contributions and participation.
