PU IES and Forman Christian College Host Digital Humanities Graduate Poster Exhibition

Lahore, The Punjab University Institute of English Studies (IES), in a collaborative effort with the Department of English at Forman Christian College University, successfully held a “Digital Humanities Graduate Poster Exhibition,” marking a significant exploration into the integration of digital technologies within English studies. This event showcased the innovative projects of IES students across various research areas, including medical humanities, fourth wave feminism, and digital storytelling, among others.

According to University of The Punjab, the exhibition was graced by the presence of Prof Dr. Amra Raza, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Director of IES, alongside academics from diverse universities and students from multiple disciplines, all keen on delving into the digital humanities. The exhibition featured 18 posters under the guidance of Dr. Amna Umer Cheema, highlighting the students’ engagement with cutting-edge topics like code poetry, game studies, and the intersection of Shakespeare’s works with the perspectives of scholars of color.

This event not only provided a platform for graduate students to present their Digital Humanities projects, including a notable project on Medical Humanities by PhD candidates and a podcast by MPhil students titled “Shakespeare meets Scholars of color,” but also opened up conversations on the evolving landscape of English studies in the digital age. By exploring themes such as digital storytelling and code poetry, the exhibition underscored the dynamic potential of digital humanities to enrich academic research and discourse in innovative ways.
