President Zardari Discusses Strengthening Ties with UK High Commissioner Marriott


Islamabad, In a diplomatic meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, President Asif Ali Zardari met with the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ms. Jane Marriott, to discuss strengthening the multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. President Zardari emphasized the historical ties between the two nations and advocated for enhanced economic and trade cooperation.



According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari and High Commissioner Marriott exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues, affirming the cordial relations established through years of high-level interaction and people-to-people contact. The President conveyed his best wishes to the British royal family, expressing the respect held for them by the people of Pakistan.



The President also addressed the economic priorities of Pakistan, focusing on stabilizing the economy and alleviating poverty through job creation. In the context of environmental concerns, he underscored the challenge of climate change, pointing out Sindh’s extensive mangrove forests and the potential of renewable energy sources to meet Pakistan’s energy needs.



High Commissioner Marriott acknowledged President Zardari’s new role, symbolizing the continuing engagement between the two countries.
