PRCS Initiates Cash Relief for Flood Victims in Gwadar

Islamabad: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) launched a financial assistance program for 4,000 households in Gwadar affected by recent flooding. The aid distribution, which commenced at the PRCS National Headquarters, involves a total of PKR 32,000 per household, to be given in two installments.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the initiative was inaugurated by PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, along with dignitaries such as former Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Alauddin Marri and Member of the National Assembly Malik Shah Gorgaij. The event highlighted PRCS’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts in the region, particularly in response to natural disasters.

Former Chief Minister Marri praised PRCS for its robust response capabilities, remarking on the organization’s pivotal role in providing essential services during crises. Chairman Laghari outlined the logistical achievements in Gwadar, emphasizing the collaboration with local authorities and disaster management agencies to ensure timely aid delivery.

The program also targets vulnerable populations, with upcoming financial aid planned for 200 pregnant and lactating women in Gwadar facing food insecurity. The ceremony featured contributions from various international and national humanitarian figures, who commended PRCS’s swift action and effective distribution of aid.
